Why leather dulls and cracks
Sun through the windows and oils from skin dry leather out a little every day. It turns matte, then pale at the arms and headrests, then it cracks. Water and all-purpose cleaners make it worse. Leather needs its own chemistry: clean the oils off, feed the hide, then protect the finish. Done right, a ten year couch looks five again.
